The initial consultation is complimentary. After that, we offer hourly, flat fee and asset-based fee options. More detailed information can be found on Our Pricing page.

We do not have a minimum asset requirement. Some of our clients are young high-earners who are just starting to invest. Most of our clients are at or in retirement with approximately $250,000- $3,000,000 in assets.

We custody client assets with Altruist, a trusted third party, for added security and transparency. While we manage your investments according to your financial plan and advisory agreement, we never have direct access to your funds. You'll receive statements directly from Altruist to verify your holdings and transactions.

Fee-only means that the only compensation we receive is directly from clients. There are no commissions or referral incentives to influence client recommendations. Fiduciary is the highest standard in our industry. It denotes that we are legally and ethically bound to act in our client’s best interest at all times.

We do most client meetings virtually, but for clients in the local Columbia area we do offer in-person meetings. We have a few meeting locations locally for convenience and make home visits from time to time as well.

We conduct comprehensive financial planning, most commonly focusing on retirement planning, tax planning and estate planning. Other common topics can be found on Our Services page. Each client situation is different, but we most commonly use passive index-based investment strategies to achieve proper diversification and stay within the client’s risk level.

We like to see our clients at a minimum once per year. Some clients meet as frequently as quarterly. During the initial planning process we may have 2-4 meeting in a period of weeks. We are always available on an as-needed basis as well.

Yes! The goal of the initial consultation is decide if we are a good fit to work together. That meeting is to further explain our process, understand your goals and answer any questions you may have. You can schedule your initial consultation here.

We certainly can. We do provide the option to do a plan either with or without ongoing management.

As fee-only, we do not receive any referral incentives. Depending on the needs of the client, we may refer to other professionals based on their experience, competency and reputation.

To be frank, there are a lot of bad “financial advisors” in our industry who may be nothing more than insurance salespeople or stock brokers. On the flip side, there are a lot of good advisors in our industry as well. You can narrow down the pool by looking a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. Look for someone who is fee-only and preferably independent from a bank, insurance company or brokerage. If you prefer face-to-face, search within your local area. Interview the advisor to make sure you like them (since this is an ongoing relationship). We meet those requirements above and do so with some of the most competitive fees in the industry.
